//// WHAT WE DO.
Training Dads of Destiny Small Group Leaders
On behalf of the National Center for Fathering in Kansas City, Go the Distance Ministries leads interactive training sessions on how to facilitate a small group ministry for dads in your church, community or place of employment.
WATCH D.O.G.S. Program Implementation
To reconnect dads outside of church to their kids, Go the Distance Ministries recommends a nationwide program called WATCH D.O.G.S. Across America® (Dads Of Great Students). The goal of WATCH D.O.G.S. is to provide schools with positive male role models that include fathers, grandfathers, uncles, step-dads and big brothers to spend a day (or more!) in a school year as an extra set of eyes and ears. They will serve as an unobtrusive fathering presence in the hallways, on the playgrounds and in the classrooms. This is a program that was built for men to lead in their schools. For more information on WATCH D.O.G.S., go to www.watchdogs.net or contact us.
Men's Ministry Program Development
Go the Distance Men's Ministry Coaching Program acts as the starting point for building a sustainable men's ministry program in local churches.
GTD will come to your church, facilitate lively discussion to start, follow up and follow through for you throughout your first year in Men's Ministry.
Your church will be given options on classes to offer, programs to choose from, as well as retreats and other spiritually inviting electives that will help the men in your congregation thrive.
Men's ministry programs follow the model of Man in the Mirror men's ministry programs, which have elements of entry point events to Create Momentum, Small group interaction to Capture Momentum, and baton passing events to Sustain Momentum and perpetuate it.
Regular coaching sessions will be held throughout the first year at intervals decided by the participants.
By employing Go The Distance to help build a church's Men's Ministry, your church will get:
• Stronger Disciples
• More Committed Servant Leaders
• Loving Homes
• Kids Being Raised Responsibly
• Church Vitality
• Community Vitality
Increased giving of men versus men who are disengaged. (Engaged men give 67% more than church attending men who are disengaged-stat Rick Warren Dec 2005)
