Rediscover the Heart of Your Marriage — a GTD Marriage Retreat, March 23-25

The context of our lives might best be summed up this way:  We live in in a love story set in the midst of the fiercest battles.

That battle is a spiritual one and it is over the human heart–the place which flows all of life.  (Prov 4:23).  This is not only for our lives as individuals, but also our marriages.  Marriage was created by God to offer us a glimpse into what our relationship with Him is supposed to look like.

But things get in the way.

Wounds that happened in our past (or even presently) which remain unhealed going into marriage have a way of flaring up at the most inopportune times.   Most of the hurt, pain, and resultant tension we experience in our marriage is really just old wounds rubbing up against each other.   What if there was a place where restoration for your own heart, and the heart of your marriage was possible?  What if irreversible life and marriage change could happen?

All marriages need to take a time out once in awhile to regroup, re-orient and resupply.  Let’s face it, life takes it’s toll on our emotions, our heart, our finances, and our basic energy level that it’s no wonder so many marriages fail, or are just getting by.

There simply isn’t enough restoration happening in our own lives, let alone our marriages, and our souls can become parched, looking for the closest and often easiest source of water for some relief.

If you are happily married, but in need of a refresher and want to take that next step together as a couple, come to Rediscover the Heart of Your Marriage.

If your marriage is in “survival mode” or you are just coasting, come to Rediscover.

If your marriage is barely alive, and you are holding onto a thread of hope, come and Rediscover.

If you know anyone that would fit the above categories, let them know about Rediscover.

Rediscover the Heart of Your Marriage is a weekend marriage retreat aimed at helping you and your spouse take a break from your regular routine to examine the heart of your marriage, your own heart, and the heart of God for you.

The weekend is designed to:

  • Help you remember what was lost in your marriage
  • Give you the space and the time to hear the voice of God
  • To have alone time as individuals and couples in an atmosphere of trust
  • To reflect on the teaching times that will loosely follow the popular book, Love & War by John and Stasi Eldredge.   The message of this book has helped set countless marriages free and onto a path of wholeness and rekindled love and companionship, or at the very least, take it to a whole new level.  It’s so good.  For a brief introduction on the content of Love & War by John and Stasi Eldredge, click here.  (John and Stasi will not be at the retreat.)

Check-in time is from 4:00-5:15pm, with dinner at 5:30pm, followed by our first session at 6pm.   Retreat concludes around noon on Sunday.

The setting is beautiful Timber Wolf Lake Lodge in Lake City, MI.  Accommodations include your own private room with all linens provided.  $299* covers your meals, lodging and teaching times.  There are optional activities that you will be able to enjoy at your own pace during our free times. *On March 12 the price goes to $349.   It is our recommendation that you read the book Love & War prior to coming.
