Fathers and Sons! Join us for an adventure on the shores of Lake Michigan this June 14-16, 2013.
The quest leaves at noon on Friday, June 14 from Cornerstone Church in Caledonia, MI and returns at noon on Sunday, June 16.
No experience or gear is needed. GTD will supply all that you need and we have experienced backpackers guiding us who have been on the Glacier National Park, Isle Royale, among other places. The guides will make your weekend enjoyable and doable for you and your son. There’s no need to purchase new equipment, but there are some things you will need for the journey. Several elements of initiation will be walked through, everything from team-building exercises, fire-building skills, carving your own walking stick, lean-to building competition, wilderness safety, teaching on manhood and masculinity, and a blessing ceremony for our sons on the shores of Lake Michigan.
It is a meaningful time with God and your son!
This is for fathers and sons (age 8-12). A pre-trip meeting for the dads will be held on Tuesday, June 11, so please have your registration in prior to that.
